1st Station – Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane
Lord, though I pride myself on my strength and personal courage, may I always remember to rely on Your strength, Your peace & mercy, as I undergo the trials and challenges of this life. Give me Your wisdom and help me to always accept Your will.
2nd Station – Jesus, Betrayed by Judas, is Arrested
Lord, let me never forget the importance of loyalty. Not only do I remain loyal to my comrades-in-arms, but loyal to Your statutes and commandments which form my values and beliefs.
3rd Station – Jesus is Condemned by the Sanhedrin
Lord, may the honor my service deserves be always at the forefront of my thoughts. Make me ever mindful that my actions and my words portray who I am and what I believe to others. May others, therefore, especially my enemies, see Christ in me.
4th Station – Jesus is Denied by Peter
Lord, help me to always remember Your Truth sets us free. Let me experience the joy that comes with that knowledge. May my words not only be honest, but life giving, always encouraging, never destructive. Help me to always treat other human beings with respect, remembering You called everything, and everyone into being.
5th Station – Jesus is Judged by Pilate
Lord, fulfilling my obligations matters to those who depend on me. May my sense of duty remain strong within me at all times. Whether I am working for others or with others, let me remain focused on the Good in my motives. And remind me that others who mean us harm “would have no power over us if it had not been given them from Above.”
6th Station – Jesus is Scourged and Crowned with Thorns
Lord, I ask for the gift of humility. If You remain for us, none who stand against us will prevail. Keep the fire of Your love burning in my heart to that I can endure any hardship, any pain, bear every burden.
7th Station – Jesus Bears the Cross
Lord, as I carry my cross, I do so for the welfare of our Nation, the Army, and those with whom I serve – to my right and to my left – those who serve with me in my unit. Bless us all with the nobility of selfless service and thank You for this mission.
8th Station – Jesus is Helped by Simon the Cyrenian to Carry the Cross
Lord, I volunteered to serve my Nation, though sometimes what is asked of me is a bigger sacrifice than I could have ever known when I raised my right hand. May Your compassion and mercy surround me so that I may know I can do what is asked of me, and do it with integrity and concern for those who need my help.
9th Station – Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem
Lord, as I mourn the loss of friends and loved ones may I still have the presence of mind and strength of heart to comfort those who will mourn at another time. Remind me that I can be Your hands, feet and voice for others, just as they can be for me.
10th Station – Jesus is Crucified
Lord, give me Your peace, the peace that passes all understanding. Grant me Your compassion and Your wisdom so that even as I struggle with my own challenges, I will find the words and the way to be merciful and patient with others whose needs may be greater than Mine. Your Ultimate Sacrifice for the world will always be an example to us. “There is no greater love than this: to lay down one’s life for a friend.”
11th Station – Jesus Promises His Kingdom to the Good Thief
Lord, like the Good Thief may I always recognize You when You are present. Help me to see You reflected in others. And may others see You in me. Especially the ones who aren’t looking for You.
12th Station – Jesus Speaks to His Mother and the Disciple
Lord, bless me with a generous spirit. Help me to see a situation clearly and grant me the wisdom to respond in a way that is pleasing to You. May I always accomplish the mission as I know it must be done.
13th Station – Jesus Dies on the Cross
Lord, none of us knows the hour of our death. None of us can add one breath to our life. Grant me the courage only You can give to depart this world with integrity, trusting in Your endless mercy and tender compassion.
14th Station – Jesus is Placed in the Tomb
Lord, whether in battle, at home, with strangers, or comrades, may we do what is pleasing to You. We thank You for Your Resurrection which takes away Death’s sting. Your death and rising from the dead give us our hope.
Lord God, Creator of the Universe, I offer my life to You every day. Take my service to my Nation, my Army and my family, to my buddies and those I defend and receive them as a sacrifice of Praise. I live my life as an offering to You. Every bit of work, joy, brokenness, and imperfection, as well as those actions that make You smile, are offered up to You. And so my life becomes a prayer. I praise You in all I do. I thank You for my awareness of Your love. I adore You as my Lord and Savior. May this contemplation of the Way of the Cross bring me closer to You and create a more perfect prayer to You. I ask this in the name of the Father, Son & the Holy Spirit. Amen.
